“My first meeting with my family, talking about the needs of the house, functionality, dreams and budget adjustments excites me every time. I listen to all the wishes of clients, and, above all, to what they don’t say. So I can offer precise solutions and alternatives for the realization of a family dream,” says designer Maya Sheinberger.

A family with two daughters bought an apartment of 165 m2 with an open-plan kitchen-living room, four bedrooms, an office, two bathrooms and a pantry. The advantages of housing were a good view from large windows and an abundance of natural light, but at the same time there were not enough storage spaces and the size of the kitchen for the owners.

The original kitchen was located where the study is now, and was very small. But the family likes to cook and receive guests, so something had to be done with the size of this zone. Maya moved the kitchen and made it the center of the house in every sense of the word. It is designed in black and white shades, and in the center there is a large island with a marble countertop, which is surrounded by bar stools.

The dining part was very important for the family, they often arrange Friday dinners. The dining area with a round table, which has a wooden base and a rotating marble countertop, was placed in the opposite part of the living room.

The neutral palette of the walls, the contrasts of dark and light furniture characterize the minimalist style of this apartment. Maintaining the visual “silence” inherent in minimalism helps a lot of storage spaces that the designer has distributed throughout the space.

In the living room on the left there are cabinets with facades in black veneer, hiding the dressing room and ventilation holes of the air conditioner removed from the eyes. The line is continued by tall kitchen cabinets with a disguised entrance to a separate pantry.

A glass partition was installed next to the dining room, which separates the common part from the office, but allows the father of the family, who works from home, to maintain eye contact with family members. The decor in the mini-office is laconic: a storage rack and a place to work.

The family loves when the house is full of people, and welcomes guests with pleasure. When planning the living room, Maya took into account the need for a recreation area for receiving guests, in which they put two gray sofas of different sizes and armchairs arranged in such a way as to facilitate communication.

The TV was placed on a column, and the table — the only item that moved with the owners from the previous house — was painted black to match the almost monochrome appearance of the interiors. design.

“Before planning a couple’s bedroom, I wanted to talk to each of them separately and understand what is important to them. Thoughtful personal space is the secret of family success,” says Maya.

In the parents’ room, a dark closet with a pink niche stands out, where a dressing table with a mirror was placed. In the bathroom attached to the bedroom, the owners asked to create an atmosphere and a spa. The designer chose dark and deep shades: the walls are covered with black mosaic, the sink cabinet is finished with black veneer and accommodates two sinks. Above them are two mirrors with built-in illumination.

Guest bathrooms were also made dark, a combination of black tiles and mosaics was chosen for them.

The girls’ rooms are decorated in pleasant, warm shades of pink, custom-made cabinets with space for books and toys were made for the bedrooms. The girls use a shared bathroom, the walls of which are lined with pink tiles, and the floors are gray.
