Modern duplex apartment in Florence Design 13.07.2022 Pierattelli Architecture studio turned the attic of a 19th century palazzo into a modern apartment with a bedroom on the mezzanine Photo Yuri Nikkolai This 65 sq.m apartment is located in the attic of a 19th-century palazzo just a few steps from Giardino dei Semplici, the second oldest botanical garden in the world. Pierattelli Architecture bureau tried to make the most effective use of the ceiling height by creating a mezzanine floor, where one of the bedrooms and a bathroom are located. The levels are separated by a glass partition, thanks to which the entire apartment is evenly flooded with light. The heart of the project was an open-plan living room with a compact kitchen and a green peninsula from Arclinea, which gives the interior character and at the same time helps to zone the room. The living room goes into the master bedroom. The effect of smoothly flowing space is achieved due to the oak parquet covering the floor throughout the apartment. Nearby there is a wooden cabinet, which is combined with a parquet floor and a mirror frame. The center of the room is occupied by the Victoriano bed by Lema, and at its foot there is a custom-made bathtub made of Carrara marble. The same material was used to design a bathroom with a shower. The bed is emphasized by a green accent wall, which rhymes with the color of the upholstery of the Cila chair from Arper, located near the glass partition. In addition to the private bathroom, there is also an Effegibi hammam on the floor, lined with green Bisazza tiles. Photo Yuri Nikkolai Photo Yuri Nikkolai Original content from the site
