Designer Victoria Volkova designed a cozy interior inspired by the atmosphere of trendy bars

“The project’s customers are a young married couple who travel a lot, are fond of literature, music, art, psychology and astronomy. They wanted the future interior to resemble the atmosphere in a bar. Hence, an atypical layout, a dark color scheme and many different lighting scenarios appeared,” says Victoria Volkova.

“When developing the layout, we first of all took into account the lifestyle of customers. On an area of 45 sq.m there is an entrance hall decorated with mirrors, a bathroom, a kitchen-living room with an ergonomically inscribed bar counter and a capsule bedroom with a “tropical” corner.”

“The color palette, despite the abundance of dark tones, turned out to be quite diverse. In addition to radical black, we used softer shades: graphite, dark blue, brown and dark green. Contrasting textures add volume and depth to the space: warm wood juxtaposes with cold metal and rough concrete.”

“To visually increase the area of the apartment, we used mirrors. Moreover, the mirrors in the bedroom and hallway have graphite tinting. This helps to maintain the color harmony of the interior, even if light objects are reflected in them. And the mirrors at the front door and in the bathroom are made without tinting and do not distort the shade of reflection.”

“There are quite a few unique items or solutions in the project. For example, the dressing room is closed by a partition made of construction mesh. Above the bar there is a metal structure, which we supplemented with live plants, and the kitchen was decorated with a steel apron with a pattern of sea ripples. By the way, according to the owners, it is not so difficult to take care of him.”

The podium under the mattress is finished with laminate, Kronopol.

“But the most interesting object in the interior was the niche bed. It is designed exactly to fit the size of the room and decorated with the same material as the floor in the entire apartment. Thanks to the wide podium, you can easily get up from the bed and cover it with a blanket. We also thought out the location of switches, lights and sockets.”
