Sauna, four beds and a comfortable kitchen on 34 sq. m.: a holiday apartment on Krasnaya Polyana Design 19.07.2022 Designer Elizaveta Tkacheva designed an apartment for short-term rental in a beautiful place with a view of the mountains, using many functional solutions. Customers and tasks The owners of this apartment in one of the houses on Krasnaya Polyana wanted to arrange it for short-term rental to those who come here to relax, go snowboarding and skiing and just have a nice time surrounded by mountains and beautiful nature. The task was to make the interior comfortable for a temporary stay of four people, with sleeping places, storage systems and a sauna so that you could relax and warm up after a day on the snowy slopes. With these tasks, the landlady of the apartment turned to the studio “Artifact” to the designer Elizaveta Tkacheva. Redevelopment Initially, the main space was free: a bathroom and a dressing room were allocated. To organize a sauna, we decided to abandon the dressing room. In its place, they just made a mini-steam room. The bathroom remained within its limits. In the studio space, a compact kitchen was allocated, as well as a living room-bedroom and dining area. The living room-bedroom is represented by a pull-out sofa and a sofa-wardrobe-bed. Transformable furniture is also a zoning partition between the kitchen and living area. The dining room is located by the window, it is a bar counter that unfolds, turning into a large semi-bar table, which can accommodate four. Finishing A durable washable paint was chosen for wall decoration. There is an engineering board on the floor in the common area. In the kitchen and hallway area, hexagon tiles of two colors were used: gray terrazzo and white. We chose stretch ceilings with a shadow profile. According to the author of the project, in the seismic zone, which is the mountainous region of Sochi, it is more practical for GCL-the ceiling and paint could crack. The bathroom was decorated with colored terrazzo, the shower room was laid out with rectangular terracotta tiles, and the walls, where water does not get, were painted in the color of tiles. Furniture and storage systems The only closet is located in the hallway. There is also a shoemaker there. For a short stay, one closet will be quite enough. Chests of drawers were provided for small things and underwear. Next to the sauna, in the vestibule, an installation for storing snowboards and skis is installed on the wall. This is both practical and decorative immediately hints at the purpose and specifics of the apartment. The kitchen set was designed to order. Behind the column cabinets there is a refrigerator, a gas boiler, a microwave, a washing machine, there is a narrow section for storing an ironing board and a folding dryer. The rest of the cabinets are designed for storing dishes. Having slightly changed the ergonomics of the working triangle, the designer and the hostess decided to make a sink with a view of the mountains. A folding sofa and a convertible sofa-bed-wardrobe were chosen as sleeping places. In the second there are mezzanine cabinets for storing bed linen or spare pillows. In the bathroom there is a cabinet under the sink for hygiene supplies and a cabinet above the toilet installation. Lighting The main lighting is made in the form of spotlights and lines (in the hallway area). Additional scenarios are implemented in the form of sconces (above the sofa next to the glass-block partition), a table lamp in the hallway, suspensions next to the mirror in the bathroom. Designer Elizaveta Tkacheva, author of the project: The task was not easy — to place the maximum number of seats on 34 meters, to make a full kitchen with mountain views, and also a sauna! But we were not afraid and gladly set to work. The clients turned out to be very fervent, pointed out our brightest projects in the portfolio, which meant that we were on our way. It turned out to be an art freeride apartment for rent for skiers and snowboarders with an unforgettable touch of art. Believe me, there are no more such people on Krasnaya Polyana!
