Photo Katya Zolotukhina TASK: historical center of Kiev, Tsar’s house, ceiling height 3.5 m. It seems to be a dream for any designer, especially for someone who is on the “you” with a Scandinavian style. The condition is that the interior pleases. FIRST STEPS To begin with, the apartment was redeveloped — we connected two small rooms into one space to make a spacious living room, kitchen and study. The bedroom was located next to the bathroom. Photo Katya Zolotukhina Photo Katya Zolotukhina style In the perception of many people, Scandinavian apartments are a kaleidoscope of 53 shades of white, ringing from the lack of color. Scandinavian design, at the same time as the Scandinavians themselves, is diverse, resourceful and playful. For example, the Swedish version often uses bright furniture, colorful textile decor, graphics and patterns, interesting design techniques in the organization of space. Kitchen, Totem. Photo KATYA ZOLOTUKHINA ACCENTS When preparing the collage, I decided to make a bright pattern the main accent in the interior. So Cole&Son wallpaper with a clear geometric pattern became the starting point of the project. The next important accent was the green sofa of the Swedish company Sits. His place in the project was discussed for a long time and he was “accepted into the house” not from the first time, but the arguments in his favor became visible as soon as he appeared in the living room. Photo KATYA ZOLOTUKHINA personality The interior turned out to be open and spacious (this is at 58 m2), and at the same time cozy — everything is in its place and always at hand. Precision, some meticulousness (but not to boredom), a light sense of humor give this interior a character like a person – simple and welcoming. Office. The chair, Hay. Lamp, Nordlux. Carpet, Ferm Living. Photo KATYA ZOLOTUKHINA colour Kaleidoscopes of bright landscapes and a mix of cultures, favorite tastes and smells – all this turned out to be in the interior. Working with color made it possible to create a variety of sensuality in it, overseas wanderings and relatives, familiar childhood memories made friends: these are lush greenery, gray rocks, the deep North sea, the color of dried grass, tree bark, the color of clouds, the color of the earth. Almost every piece from their collections is like a work of modern interior art. Special attention was paid to textiles and carpets. Much was brought from travel, but a special acquisition was the carpet of the Ukrainian brand Art & Design by Kristina Gaidamaka “Quantum of Life”. It is like a reminder of your home, the place where you return after a long journey — the carpet pattern consists of elementary particles, as if creating a personal design of the life path for everyone.
