Student apartment: 18 m2 Design 28.02.2022 Appearance can be deceptive: even on an area of only 18 m2, you can create a functional space for living and studying, which was demonstrated by the Fateeva Design studio The current owners inherited a tiny apartment with an area of only 17.3 square meters in an old building. Having no idea what to do with the room, the owners turned to the Ukrainian creative workshop Fateeva Design. Despite the very limited area, it turned out that housing in the very center of Odessa is great for long-term rent to students, because there is a college very close by. Work with the room began with the division into functional zones. The customers wanted to allocate enough space for a bedroom and a workplace. However, it was necessary to provide the future tenant with a decent kitchen and bathroom. Surprisingly, there was enough space for everything, even for a spacious wardrobe. All functional areas are located around the perimeter of the room. The L-shaped kitchen set can simultaneously play the role of a surface for cooking, dining and writing tables. The hinged shelves are also suitable for storing kitchen equipment and study supplies. The mobile cabinet under the desktop can be pushed deep into a corner to provide more legroom. The designers also took care of the storage space. The bed podium is equipped with hidden drawers. It was possible to place two large wardrobes in the hallway, while the back wall of one wardrobe serves as a partition between the hallway and the living area. A neutral color scheme was chosen for the interior, so the furniture does not “steal” and does not drag over additional space. The border between the hallway and the room is highlighted by various materials: light laminate and black tiles. Original content from the site
