A young family of programmers works at home. The couple wanted a practical and functional interior. The cuisine of the Swedish brand was a prerequisite. And a neutral palette. A light shade of gray was chosen as the basis and monochrome was diluted with bright furniture.

Customers and tasks

A married couple who spends a lot of time at home (they work remotely) turned to designer Ksenia Guseva with a request to arrange their apartment with one of the residential complexes in Moscow. There were several important tasks: jobs in each room, functionality, a lot of storage systems integrated into the interior so that they were invisible, a washing machine in the bathroom and an IKEA kitchen. The young family does not have children yet, but they also wanted to plan a nursery for the future. 

Layout

The apartment was rented by the developer without partitions, but according to the original plan, two rooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms were supposed. The layout was not actually changed. In the kitchen, furniture had to be arranged so as to fit a set, dining and working areas, and a living room. They coped with this by giving a window seat for the living room area.

A small dressing room was added to the bedroom, which was separated from the total volume by partitions made of translucent glass with relief. “The pattern in the form of narrow vertical stripes gives the corrugated glass a special beauty. Despite the decoration, this glass is not inferior to the usual one in terms of the ability to transmit light. But because of the corrugated surface, the image is blurred, loses clarity. This solution has become an excellent option for zoning the wardrobe in the bedroom,” says the author of the project about the idea.
