Syrena Irena bistro in the style of the 1950s in Warsaw Design 27.06.2022 Projekt Praga Studio has created a bright interior inspired by the design of the 1950s and the main symbol of Warsaw Photo Pion studio Cafe Syrena Irena is located on the ground floor of a house from the early 1950s in the center of Warsaw. The restaurant’s menu includes traditional Polish dishes, such as perogi (an analogue of dumplings), rye sourdough soup and herring in linseed and hemp oil. In an effort to create a relaxed atmosphere at home and pay homage to the architecture of the building, the Projekt Praga studio team used elements of mid-century style. The entrance area is decorated with a mosaic of tiles that leads to the bar, painted with bright blue powder paint. The shades of the sea and sand appeared in the interior for a reason. The name Syrena Irena refers to the symbol of the city — the Warsaw Siren. This theme is continued by metal fences imitating the pattern of scales and neon signs. The walls of the cafe are decorated with fragments of the painting “Ulysses and Sirens” by the English artist Herbert James Draper (Herbert James Draper), created using monochrome printing. According to the Mamastudio team, who developed the cafe’s visual identity, its design is inspired by the aesthetics of jazz Warsaw in the 1960s, when the city center was drowned in neon light and music was playing everywhere.
