Two-storey apartment in pastel colors in London Design 13.04.2022 The Studio Merlin team has created an ideal space for relaxation, where every thing has its own place Photo Richard Chivers Architect Josh Piddock named his London apartment Maison Pour Dodo, which can be translated from French as “A house for sleeping”. In an effort to create a space where nothing distracts from rest, he and the Studio Merlin team paid special attention to the organization of storage. Photo Richard Chivers The designers began work with the living room, where a high shelf for storing books and decorative items was placed. In the center of the space is a blue sofa from Muuto, diluting the overall beige and white range. Kitchen cabinets are made in a darker shade of blue, topped with a concrete countertop made of quartz agglomerate. In the corner of the kitchen there is a small reading corner, above which there is a row of open shelves for cans of cereals and spices. In the niche between the door and the bedroom there is a small workplace with a desk and a stool made of Douglas fir. The same wood was used for finishing the floors, and the team put the remains of the boards on the bedside tables. Storage is also thought out here: above the toilet there is a row of built-in cabinets that merge with the walls, remaining almost invisible.
